Make a replica of an art painting in a photo session with a model. One session is directed in the studio and the other one is set on location.
For the studio photo session I’ve chosen a painting of François Boucher called “Portrait of a woman”. This painting was easy to imitate. I’ve chosen my classmate Janneke for the photo shoot who did a decent job as a model.
For the photo session on location I was allowed to make use of the studio of my aunt’s friend. I met the model on the street with her boyfriend. I don‘t remember the painter’s name, but the girl resembles the angel very much.
Make a replica of a magazine with a self-photographed cover: one with a model and one with an accessory.
I’v chosen for a cool, punk-style magazine called Pop- magazine and I was looking for a model that fitted the punk-style look. That‘s how I ended with my niece Nicole which fitted the concept very well and I was pleased with the results.
For the accessory I used a bracelet and necklace with studs. For the decoration underneath I used shredded images of punk-rock and emo-styled people. The photo was made with a bellow camera. That was a unique experience.
Make a replica of a CD-cover of your favorite artist with a model. One session is directed in the studio and the other one is set on location.
For the studio assignment I photographed my cousin Griffith as Andre 3000, the rapper and singer of the group Outkast. I imitated everything on the detail from a scarf to a pistol. I’ve created the smoke coming out of the gun with the help of an incense stick taped behind it. It was a fun assignment to do and I was very pleased with the result.
For the assignment on location I’ve photographed my sister in a green field. I dressed her up and putted on some make up like Beyoncé. The results could be better by choosing another model or artist of size. But I got a good result.
